		<description>Solid advice, Eva!  And you&#039;re absolutely right. Its one we keep forgetting.    Sometimes, it also depends on the local market areas as well. I would imagine places like San Francisco are fierce when it comes to local freelancing.    When it comes to local competition for freelance work especially covering local information, for me, living in Washington, D.C. is extremely challenging even when there are such niche areas ranging from politics to international relations to local travel, etc    In D.C., its usually about who you know :)  </description>
