World Hum has just published a handful of items about Brazil’s favelas – the urban slums that are gaining increasing attention from tourists.

Contributor Rob Verger offers a thoughtful dispatch on the slum tourism phenomenon, an accompanying audio slideshow, and his picks for the best movies on the subject.
