A week ago, Pulse announced a contest: write an entertaining blog about an NYC experience and win a Not For Tourists NYC Guide.

You can find the winning entry, “Betsy from Columbus, Run Down by a Bus,” here. Written by Matador member, Tom Gates (that’s him above- clearly NOT in New York), the blog is a funny meditation about the author’s growing frustration with his city.

In fact, we liked it so much, that we’ve named Tom the editor of a soon-to-launch Matador blog: MatadorLife. The MatadorLife blog will feature articles about life between trips, and Tom proved he was up to the task in less than a New York minute.

We’ve still got two more NFT guides to give away– if YOU have an entertaining NYC story, be sure to blog about it on Matador today!
