Matador’s Friday Photo: Reed Flute Cave, Guilin, China
“This was taken at the Reed Flute Cave just north of Guilin, China. The naturally formed cave got its name from the verdant reeds growing at its mouth, which are used to make flutes. This shot was taken from a beautifully lit reflective pool in the heart of the cave.”

That is a fantastic photo! Everyone knows Guilin for the “Gumdrop Mountains” above ground, and photos like this will inspire people to look further afield while in the area. Nice!

Wow. That’s all that needs to be said.

This is a great photo, but the cave itself is quite disappointing. The cave is completely illuminated by neon lights, which has dried up and killed the ecosystem inside. Very tragic.
