Trazzler’s latest contest is a doozy: a $7,000 trip for two or a $6,000 writer’s residency in Hawaii.

Matador member Mike Lynch sent out a surprised e-mail last night, noting that he’d made it into round two of Trazzler’s latest writing contest.

Mike’s entry is just one of several from Matador members and contributors.

Are you one of them?

Leave the URL to your entry in the comments and tell us which of the Trazzler prizes you’re jonesing for.

If you’re NOT in the running, consider popping over to Trazzler and lending your vote in support of the Matador community!

The photo on the entry above is amazing!

I entered as well. I like the short format, it leaves no excuses for getting off your butt and doing something, but it is a different kind of challenge. I know I don’t have enough facebook friends for the popular entry but I’m hoping to convince enough people to vote that it will considered for the other prize. From the fine print you only need 3 votes to have them read your entry, but so far even my mom is convinced it is just another facebook application that might steal her identity and sell it to the Mafia, and it will be the credit card thieves that end up in Hawaii.

It really is a great-big social networking thing, to get into and stay with the front runners; not so much your writing ability, that lands a prize. There are some great travel writers who Trazzle but, would never consider entering the contests, just because of the headaches working the networks can cause.

Send me a mail and I’ll clue you in on some of the crazy stuff I do, just to get a handfull of votes ! And good luck; goina Stumble you, next.

      Cheers,
      Mike

^^^That one’s mine! I harassed my friends so much during the last contest that no-one is voting this time.

Update: I was a runner-up in the Editors’ Choice, and I think the overall Editors’ Choice winner was very well deserved; I really liked that piece.
